Living somewhere relatively new means not having much of a history, which is a trade-off.

I suppose that means I can look at our home, built in the 70s with a fireplace and hearth) as a place where families will work and play long after we are gone. I hope. By the time we moved in, the subsequent owners had let that garden become a shambles of weeds, etc. It's taken years, but finally the garden is built back up to what I hope would have made the original owners proud.Nicolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15212465957211363245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23483482.post-88000570739183752952012-07-10T09:13:11.853-04:002012-07-10T09:13:11.853-04:00this is lovely.this is lovely.Shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05602868040771218507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23483482.post-43381386170800048482012-07-10T09:10:46.183-04:002012-07-10T09:10:46.183-04:00We have a picture of the elderly 1st owner of our ...We have a picture of the elderly 1st owner of our house calmly on a ladder fixing the roof and it's weirdly comforting to think of our very, very old house as a place that has sheltered many people before us and will continue to do long after we're gone, too, probably.

Beautiful.Beckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13953517447164263617noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23483482.post-59340758633534409592012-07-10T01:16:23.401-04:002012-07-10T01:16:23.401-04:00I'm not very interested in thanking the archit...I'm not very interested in thanking the architect of my house.
